In 1982 I took a 7-day workshop with master color photographer Jay Maisel. He had a catch phrase "What this scene needs is a red truck." (No, it doesn't really have to be a truck, or red,) What that meant of course, was that the scene needed a sparkle of visual tension to complement the photograph. Here are some of my favorite color studies from my archives.
