How do I describe ...
my work? I have been taking photographs for over 60 years, starting as a kid taking random snapshots. I enjoyed a 45 year year-long pro career, my assignment work providing me an interesting life, but my obsession is always my personal work. People have asked me to describe it, I'm tempted to use the words fine-art photography but to me that has a certain pretentiousness to it. I read a definition of fine art photographs as those created in line with the vision of the photographer as artist, as a medium for creative expression. The goal of fine-art photography is to express an idea, a message, or an emotion. Funny, I always thought that was the goal of all of my photographs.
